PATTAYA, THAILAND – A 12-year-old American girl with autism who wandered from her accommodation during the night was found safe and returned to her family after an intense police search early Wednesday morning.

The incident occurred around 3:00 a.m. on October 29, 2025, when the child’s mother, Courtiney Nichelle Young, alerted local authorities that her daughter Jazmyn had disappeared from their lodging. Ms Young, a U.S. national, told police her daughter had left without direction and was unable to communicate her intentions clearly.
Recognizing the urgency due to the girl’s condition, Police Colonel Sarawut Nuchanart, Superintendent of Banglamung Police Station, immediately mobilized a coordinated search. A rapid response team was formed under his directive, involving Police Lieutenant Colonel Kornpong Sukvisit, Deputy Chief of Investigation; Police Lieutenant Colonel Wutthiphong Kasa, Chief of Investigation Section; and Police Lieutenant Natthathan Chantawong, Deputy Investigation Officer.
