Pattaya, Thailand – A young woman known as Nam had her green Yamaha Grand Filano stolen outside her dormitory in Soi Khao Talo 24 late on 18 October 2025, police said.
The theft captured on CCTV
Police said closed-circuit footage recorded the incident at about 23:36. The video showed two men arriving on motorcycles. One man, wearing a green T-shirt and three-quarter trousers, moved cautiously through the darkness, checked the surroundings and then forced the scooter’s lock. His accomplice waited on a second motorcycle before both men pushed the scooter away and rode off. Investigators said the entire episode took less than five minutes.
Victim describes moments of panic
Nam, visibly upset, described the seconds she watched her vehicle disappear. “I had parked the motorcycle for a moment to go to the toilet. When I came back, I saw the man pushing it. I screamed, but they fled immediately,” she told reporters. She added that the scooter was new and that she was still paying for it in instalments. “I’m devastated. That bike was my only way to work,” she said.
Police secure and examine footage
Local police confirmed they had secured the CCTV recordings and were examining them frame by frame. Officers said they hoped to identify the suspects from their clothing, movements and the second motorcycle seen in the footage. Authorities appealed for members of the public with information to come forward, noting it remained unclear whether the suspects were local or had travelled to the area for the theft.
Community concern and appeal for tips
With both men still at large, Nam made an emotional public plea: “Please find them. They were so fast — I’m afraid they’ll do it again.” Friends and neighbours rallied around her while she waited for updates from investigators. Police encouraged anyone with tips or who recognised the motorcycle or the men in the footage to contact them.
Investigation continues
Nam’s licence plate, recorded in the report as 3กณ Chonburi 2018, and the distinctive green Grand Filano remained missing. Officers said their enquiries were ongoing and that they would continue to analyse the video evidence in hopes of progressing the case. For Nam, the loss was more than financial: it removed her main means of transport and left her shaken. “I just want justice,” she said quietly.
The investigation into the theft continued, and police urged residents to take extra precautions and to report any suspicious activity in the Soi Khao Talo area.
