The shocking mix-up
Thai smoothie lover Thitiwat Koosakul placed a lunch order via LINE Man for grilled chicken and a creamy avocado smoothie. What he received, however, was anything but refreshing: his drink contained the ingredients for green chicken curry, including spices and possibly pieces of chicken.
Thitiwat described the moment on Facebook:
“At first, I thought it was a different type of avocado. But after the first sip, I realised – this is curry!”
The taste was so revolting that he immediately vomited. A colleague who tried it confirmed the strange flavour.
Restaurant denies responsibility
Attempts to contact the restaurant by phone failed, so Thitiwat went there in person. He met a man claiming to be the owner’s brother, who admitted the mix-up but offered no apology or compensation.
Thitiwat chose not to publicly name the restaurant to protect its reputation, but remains frustrated by the owner’s lack of response.

The post sparked a storm online. Some questioned the story, arguing that while avocado and curry might look similar in a blender, they smell very different. Others expressed sympathy and shared the post thousands of times, highlighting the importance of care in food preparation.
How could it happen?
Experts are puzzled. One theory is that the smoothie and curry ingredients were stored side by side in the kitchen, and an inattentive employee grabbed the wrong container. But the strong smell of green curry should have been unmistakable, suggesting a failure in quality control as well.
