Deadly Bangkok pub fire toll rises to 38

29-year-old woman dies in hospital, seven victims still in intensive care

BANGKOK, Thailand – A 29-year-old woman has died in hospital after the Rong Beer Na Lat Phrao fire, pushing the death toll to 38. Thirteen injured victims remain in hospital.

The latest victim is Saimae Singchom, a customer at the entertainment venue. She died on 11 August 2026 at 6.30 pm in Maharat Nakhon Ratchasima Hospital.

Woman transferred before death

Singchom had been moved to Maharat Nakhon Ratchasima Hospital from Chulalongkorn Hospital. News of her death broke the evening of 12 August.

Seven of the remaining injured victims are in intensive care. Six others are on regular wards.

Fire broke out in mid-July

The blaze erupted at Rong Beer Na Lat Phrao on Lat Phrao Road in Bangkok’s Chatuchak district on the night of 12 July 2026. Initial reports counted 37 dead and dozens injured.

With Singchom’s death, the confirmed number of victims now stands at 38.

Case handed to prosecutors

Investigators from Phahon Yothin Police Station have sent the case file to the public prosecutor. The prosecutor must decide whether to charge the 45-year-old owner, Suwicha Sailabat.

The fire happened at Sailabat’s venue, Rong Beer Na Lat Phrao. The remaining 13 injured victims continue receiving treatment.
