Woman found dead in sleepwear near front door

Uncle discovered 48-year-old niece face-down in Amnat Charoen home, no signs of struggle

AMNAT CHAROEN, THAILAND – A 48-year-old woman has been found dead in sleepwear near the front door of her home. Her uncle opened the door and alerted police, but there were no signs of outside involvement or a struggle.

The homeowner opened the door of the house on August 4 and found his niece N.S. Ladda lying face-down near the entrance. The 48-year-old lived in the house and was wearing sleepwear.

Officers from the Mueang Amnat Charoen Police Station arrived along with helpers from the Phetkasem Amnat Charoen Foundation.

No marks of violence or break-in

Investigators found no visible injuries suggesting outside involvement during the initial examination. Inside the house, there were also no signs of a struggle or search.

A duty doctor from Amnat Charoen Hospital was called in to examine the body. Deputy Investigation Inspector R.T.T. Khajornsak Phunwan took part in the investigation.

Relatives name several pre-existing conditions

According to the family, the deceased suffered from high blood pressure, stage 4 kidney failure, and depression. Relatives suspect a sudden cardiac arrest as the cause of death.

An official autopsy did not confirm the cause of death, but sudden heart failure was listed as a possible cause. The family raised no objections to the finding.

Body handed over for religious funeral rites

The deceased was the niece of the homeowner. The body was handed over to relatives for religious funeral ceremonies. According to the preliminary police report, no further evidence pointed to a violent incident.
