NARATHIWAT, Thailand – A loud bang and then chaos erupted when a bomb attack on a road culvert injured two Malaysian tourists and severely damaged a car.
Explosion at the Sapom Intersection
The attack occurred on June 29, 2069, at 11:41 AM, shaking the entrance to Tak Bai district. Unidentified perpetrators detonated an explosive device at a culvert near the Sapom intersection in Ban Phrai Wan village. The bomb detonated directly by the roadside, leaving a scene of devastation. A vehicle within the explosion radius sustained severe damage.
Two Malaysians in Hospital
Two Malaysian tourists were injured in the attack. First responders and officers from the Internal Security Operations Command (ISOC) Region 4 Forward provided immediate assistance at the scene. The injured individuals were transported to a hospital for further treatment, though their exact condition remains unknown.
Police Seal Off Crime Scene
Immediately following the explosion, security forces extensively cordoned off the area and managed traffic. Simultaneously, the bomb disposal unit arrived to search for any further dangerous items. The officers established a task force to stabilize the situation and coordinate the investigation.

Specialists from the forensics unit arrived shortly after to meticulously search the crime scene for usable evidence. Every minor clue was secured in an effort to identify the perpetrators. The ISOC Region 4 Forward Command strongly condemned the act, stating that such an incident inevitably undermines confidence in tourism and damages the economic climate of the entire province. The safety of life and property of the population was described as being massively compromised.
