PHUKET, THAILAND – A 27-year-old man who caused unrest on the island with a daring burglary spree for weeks has been caught by police.

Officers from the Wichit Station discovered the suspect hidden in the ceiling of a rented room. He is believed to be responsible for multiple thefts and acts of property damage.
Police executed an arrest warrant issued by the Phuket Provincial Court. The man, identified by authorities only as Mr. Sun, had holed up in a rented room in the Sri Sunthorn sub-district of Thalang.
To evade capture, he climbed into the ceiling. His hiding spot was discovered, and officers apprehended him before taking him to the Wichit Station for questioning.

Authorities allege that on June 13, Mr. Sun struck an apartment complex in Wichit. He cut motorcycle fuel lines and siphoned gasoline into bottles.
Just one day later, he reportedly broke into coin-operated washing machines in Na Suea Soi. On June 19, he entered an apartment in Central Residence in Wichit, stealing shoes, clothing, cash, and personal items.

The alleged offenses continued. The 27-year-old is also linked to thefts at bars in the Kathu district.
Additionally, a separate case involves a firearms offense. Police are investigating him in another proceeding for this incident.

Investigators now suspect the man is also responsible for other unsolved crimes on Phuket. Police are coordinating with multiple stations to examine all potential connections.
The suspect was transported to the Wichit Station for further questioning and investigation.
