PHUKET, THAILAND – Five crew members were apprehended at a pier in Phuket during a coordinated Marine Police drug bust. Spontaneous urine tests showed positive for methamphetamine, and the individuals provided confessions on-site.
Five Men Caught in Random Urine Test
Officers from the Phuket Marine Police focused their attention on the province’s main pier and surrounding maritime tourist areas. Without any prior warning, law enforcement personnel initiated drug checks on pier workers and boat crews.
Amidst the bustling port activity, officers conducted their random tests. For five individuals, the test strips immediately turned red. Urine tests confirmed the use of methamphetamine, classified as a Category 1 narcotic in Thailand.
Handcuffs Clicked Directly on the Quay
The accused boatmen did not attempt to complicate matters with denials. Directly confronted with the test results, all five suspects provided full confessions.
Authorities moved swiftly, taking the men into custody without delay. After securing evidence and identities at the scene, the group was taken directly into official detention.
