BANGKOK, Thailand – A man crashed his SUV into a university swimming pool following a dispute with his mother over rent payments.

The incident occurred on June 18th outside the Sasapol building on the university campus. Police officers from the Pathum Wan Station discovered a white SUV partially submerged in the pool.
Three of the vehicle’s doors were open, and the front of the car was damaged. It remained unclear if other individuals were in the vehicle at the time of the crash.

According to reports from Amarin TV, a dispute between the 29-year-old driver, identified as Chakkrit P., and his mother escalated. The argument centered on the monthly rent for his condominium, which amounted to 27,000 Baht.
Chakkrit P. had reportedly asked his mother for financial assistance with the rent. When she refused, he allegedly got into his SUV and drove towards the university.

The 29-year-old drove directly towards the pool area. Campus security personnel attempted to stop the vehicle.
However, Chakkrit P. ignored their warnings, accelerated, and broke through the fence surrounding the pool. The SUV then plunged into the water, coming to rest partially submerged.

Paramedics transported Chakkrit P. to Charoenkrung Pracharak Hospital. Authorities have not yet released details regarding the extent of his injuries.
The police confirmed that investigations are ongoing to determine the exact motive behind the risky driving maneuver.
