BURIRAM / SA KAEO – Accused killer live-streams bizarre show for police before peaceful surrender.
In a peculiar turn of events, a 24-year-old man, identified as Sutthirak, also known as “Thi”, broadcast himself brushing his teeth live on his mobile phone moments before his arrest. The incident occurred on Wednesday afternoon at a rented complex in Baan Mai Nong Sai sub-district. The police had been surrounding the room and had ordered the occupants to come out.
Sutthirak calmly responded to the officers through the closed door, asking them to “Wait a moment.” The standoff concluded shortly thereafter when the suspect, along with his alleged driver Kiattisak, 26, and his girlfriend Nuntita, 23, emerged from the room and surrendered without resistance.

The apprehension marked the culmination of a swift manhunt that began just after midnight on Tuesday. The victim, 40-year-old lottery seller Pichit, was riding his motorcycle into an alley in Ban Pradeak village, Prakhon Chai district, around 00:58 AM. A white Honda City sedan pulled up alongside him.
CCTV footage captured a heated argument between the victim and the occupants of the car shortly before the fatal shooting. Pichit was killed in the exchange of gunfire.

During an examination of the crime scene, officers discovered 140 methamphetamine tablets lying between the deceased’s legs. This finding opened a new investigative avenue for the homicide team. Despite Pichit selling lottery tickets, detectives are now exploring whether the deadly dispute was connected to drug trafficking.
Authorities have not yet announced a clear motive. Police Colonel Wisanu Apornphong, head of the Prakhon Chai Police Station, and his team immediately reviewed surveillance cameras in the vicinity and traced the escape route of the white Honda City.

The trail led investigators to the border area in Sa Kaeo, where the white sedan was eventually located at the rented complex in Aranyaprathet. The province directly borders Cambodia and features numerous natural border crossings, leading police to believe the suspects intended to flee the country and evade Thai justice.
The raid was coordinated by high-ranking provincial police officials: Police Colonel Jaturaphat Singhatthit, Deputy Commander of Sa Kaeo Provincial Police; Police Colonel Damrong Iampairoj, Head of the Investigations Department; and Police Colonel Chaturaphat Singhasit. The officers cordoned off the property before surrounding the room.

Following the arrests of the three suspects, immediate arrangements were made for their transfer to the Prakhon Chai Police Station in Buriram. Sutthirak is considered the alleged shooter, Kiattisak is believed to have driven the getaway vehicle, and Nuntita is identified as the main suspect’s girlfriend.
In addition to the murder investigation, a second case has been initiated. The 140 methamphetamine tablets form the basis for suspicion of drug trafficking. Investigators are currently interviewing witnesses, analyzing further camera footage, and examining whether more individuals were involved in the incident. The main suspect’s bizarre live video could play a role, with police suspecting his messages were directed at drug contacts.
