KOH SAMUI, THAILAND – An Italian national was apprehended after police discovered heroin concealed within a beverage bottle he attempted to smuggle into a police holding cell.

On the evening of June 3, 2026, a 46-year-old Italian man, identified as Domenico, arrived at the Bo Phut Police Station with the intention of visiting an incarcerated friend awaiting deportation. During the visit, Police Sergeant Major Veerayut Krisgree noticed an unusual bottle cap. A subsequent search of the bottle revealed 0.33 grams of heroin, wrapped in a condom, leading to Domenico’s immediate arrest.
