Pattaya, Thailand – A tourist was injured in Pattaya after attempting a risky stunt on a moving songthaew. The man tried a backflip from the rear roof railing, lost his grip, and hit his face on the road. The group then continued walking along the beach without seeking medical assistance.
Stunt on Pattaya Beach Road ends in fall
The man was hanging from the rear roof railing of the beach songthaew and intended to perform a backflip on Pattaya Beach Road while the vehicle was moving. The attempt went wrong near Pattaya Beach 6/1 in Bang Lamung district.
The tourist fell face-first onto the road and suffered a swollen wound on his forehead. The incident was captured on video and shared on social media.
Friends help, medical help remains absent
A motorcycle taxi driver who witnessed the fall said the tourist got up without help. Three friends got off and assisted him in collecting his belongings.
“The tourist stood up without assistance.”
said the witness, a motorcycle taxi driver.
The group then continued walking along the beach without seeking medical help. The witness also said the tourist appeared to be drunk.

Little sympathy online, clear warning from driver
Online, most commenters showed little sympathy and said the tourist was to blame. The video primarily provoked harsh reactions rather than compassion.
A local songthaew driver warned that such behavior poses serious risks for passengers and drivers. Drivers could be held legally liable for incidents in their vehicles.
