PATONG, THAILAND – A CCTV video circulating on social media showed a suspected robbery of a foreign tourist immediately after a cash withdrawal in Patong, reigniting concerns over safety in one of the country’s best-known nightlife districts.

A clip posted by the Facebook page Phuket Times reportedly showed the incident taking place at 5:12 a.m. on 19 March near the seafood market by Soi Bangla in Kathu district. The footage appeared to be taken from a security camera overlooking an ATM.
According to the video, the tourist withdrew money from the machine while one man waited behind him. Shortly afterwards, two more men approached, positioning themselves close to the visitor.
