PATTAYA, THAILAND – A 32-year-old delivery driver was injured in Pattaya in the early hours of 18 February 2026 in a suspected road-rage incident involving an iron bar.
Driver Reported Night-Time Assault to Police
According to his own account, the man appeared at Pattaya City Police Station at around 1:20 a.m. and reported the attack. He told officers he had been travelling in Soi Phothisan 7 in the Nong Prue subdistrict of Bang Lamung district in eastern Thailand when the incident occurred.
Wrong-Way Encounter in Narrow Lane
The driver said he had accepted an order via a delivery app and was heading into the narrow lane to hand over the food. There, a motorcycle carrying three teenagers allegedly approached him while travelling against the flow of traffic, which, by his account, shocked him.
Insult Triggers Pursuit and Iron Bar Attack
In his complaint, the delivery driver stated that, in his agitation, he shouted an insult at the teenagers, whereupon they chased after him with an iron bar. He reported that a verbal argument broke out first, before the situation escalated into a physical assault.
Police Advise Medical Examination
Following the incident, the man went to the police in Pattaya, which has jurisdiction for the coastal city within Bang Lamung district, and had the case formally recorded. Officers advised him to seek medical treatment and obtain a medical certificate to serve as evidence.
Search for Teenage Suspect Under Way
According to police information, the teenage suspect was to be identified and located in order to clarify the exact course of the confrontation. The authorities stressed that the investigation would aim to balance the interests of all sides.
“The investigations are being conducted to ensure fairness for all parties and to examine all relevant statements and evidence.”
