CHONBURI, THAILAND – Khao Kheow Open Zoo launched a four-day “LOVE & HENG” festival that combined Valentine’s Day romance with Chinese New Year traditions.
Festival opened by zoo director
On 14 February 2026, Narongwit Chotchoi, director of Khao Kheow Open Zoo in Chonburi province, officially opened the “LOVE & HENG” festival. Zoo executives and staff took part in the ceremony, creating a lively and festive atmosphere from the outset.
Blending Valentine’s Day and Chinese New Year
The festival ran from 14 to 17 February 2026 and was designed to convey love, luck and positive energy to all visitors. The zoo was decorated in a traditional Chinese good-luck theme, featuring bright red lanterns symbolising prosperity and a prominent arch shaped like a “Golden Horse of Luck” as a sign of success in the Year of the Horse.
Golden Horse photo spot and special discounts
A central feature was the photo check-in area at the “Golden Horse of Luck”, intended to bring visitors symbolic good fortune for the coming year. People born under the zodiac sign of the Horse who held Thai nationality received a special 20 percent discount on the regular adult admission price.
Promotions for couples and souvenir raffle
For couples, the zoo offered a promotion in which the first 20 pairs who took a photo together, checked in at the zoo and shared the image on social media were entered into a raffle. These couples had the chance to win special souvenir mementos, adding a romantic and playful touch to their Valentine’s Day visit.
Invitation to families, couples and tourists
Khao Kheow Open Zoo invited families, couples and travellers to experience an atmosphere filled with love, cheerfulness and symbols of good luck during the four festival days. For further information, the zoo referred visitors to its main telephone line at 038-318444, extension 213, where details about the “LOVE & HENG” festival programme were provided.
