PATTAYA, THAILAND – Five new projects in Banglamung district received a total of 790,100 baht from a women’s development fund to support sustainable incomes and strengthen the wider Pattaya economy.
Committee approves local income projects
The initiatives were reviewed by the Screening and Monitoring Committee of the Women’s Role Development Fund, which met in the Inthra-Phitak conference room of the Banglamung District Office. The meeting was chaired by District Chief Mr. Anusak Phiriyom, who oversaw the assessment of applications from several communities. The committee focused on revolving loans, reusable small credits for fund members that can be reissued after repayment.
Applications from three subdistricts
Proposals came from the subdistricts of Khao Mai Kaeo, Pong and Banglamung. After examining the documents, the committee approved five projects that it believed could create viable income sources for women in the area. According to the members, the supported activities were designed to generate continuous earnings rather than one-off gains.
From mushroom farming to a grocery expansion
In Khao Mai Kaeo, funding was granted to expand the Mab Cheroen Mushroom Farm. The existing mushroom cultivation was set to be enlarged to increase production and open up additional income opportunities for local women.
In Pong, the committee approved the expansion of an external catering and event organization business. The project aimed to broaden services for events in order to secure more contracts and strengthen revenue streams.
Three initiatives in Banglamung subdistrict
Within Banglamung subdistrict itself, three projects received backing. These included the development of “Smart Planting Soil” to upgrade agricultural materials and improve cultivation. Another project combined laying-hen chicken farming with home garden vegetable cultivation to diversify household food and income.
The third initiative supported the expansion of the Thong Fah Praphasri grocery store. According to the committee, these ventures were expected not only to secure income but also to enhance local value creation and the supply of everyday goods.
Overall budget and closer guidance
For the 2026 fiscal year, Banglamung district had a total allocation of 1,232,400 baht from the fund. This amount covered both direct grants and revolving capital that could be lent out again once previous loans were repaid.
The responsible subcommittee announced that it would accompany applicants more closely in future. Members discussed providing guidance to women during project preparation and submission to ensure feasibility, sustainable income generation and repayment capacity.
Monthly deadlines and long-term goals
Interested fund members could submit their proposals to the Community Development Office of Banglamung district by the 20th of each month. The office carried out an initial screening before the committee evaluated and made final decisions on the projects.
The latest approvals were part of long-term efforts in the Pattaya metropolitan area to strengthen women economically and promote community development. The overarching goal was to use targeted microloans and advisory services to support local initiatives that would generate and stabilize their own income over time.
