SRIRACHA, THAILAND – A four-year-old girl was critically injured after being struck by a car in a mini‑mart parking lot in Sriracha on Friday afternoon.
Child hit on Soi Bueng-Bo Win 88
According to police, the accident occurred at about 3:30 p.m. on 19 December 2025 in a parking area beside a convenience store at the entrance to Soi Bueng-Bo Win 88 in Sriracha district, Chonburi province. Rescue teams from the Pure Yong Tai Foundation in Sriracha were dispatched after reports that a car had run over a small child, while a unit from the Larn Thong Rescue Unit of Somdej Phra Borommarajathevi Na Sriracha Hospital and Pol. Sub. Lt. Sarawut Sinsai from Bo-Win Police Station also responded.
Girl found unconscious next to parked car
At the scene, responders found a white MG ZS parked beside the shop and, nearby, the girl, a four-year-old Thai, lying unconscious with very weak breathing. Paramedics immediately began resuscitation efforts, using an automated resuscitation device supplied by the medical team. The child’s mother and other relatives repeatedly broke down in tears, with the mother losing consciousness several times.
Noodle vendor identified as driver
Police identified the driver as Natthawat, a 33-year-old noodle vendor, who appeared visibly shocked and distressed, according to investigators. He told officers he had driven into the parking area to set up his noodle stall and had not seen the child. Initial inquiries indicated it was a tragic accident, and officers said the man was cooperative.
“I really did not see the child and only suspected something was wrong when I felt the car driving over an obstacle.”
said Natthawat, noodle vendor, according to police.
Uncle describes horrifying moments
The girl’s uncle, who was questioned by police, said the child often played behind the family’s som tam stall, which stood directly next to where the crash later happened. He explained that he and the mother had been in the process of dismantling the stall when the noodle vendor drove in to set up his own stand. The uncle reported hearing a loud bang, turning around and seeing the car’s wheel roll over his niece’s body.
“I immediately shouted for the driver to stop.”
said the uncle, relative of the victim.
He added that the mother turned around, saw the scene, screamed and fainted.
Girl in critical condition at hospital
The critically injured child was rushed to Phaya Thai Bo Win Hospital for emergency treatment. Authorities said there were initially no further details on her current condition. Police placed Mr. Natthawat in custody for detailed questioning about the course of events, and stated that a charge of traffic negligence causing serious bodily harm was being considered.
Investigation into cause continues
Officers said the investigation into the exact cause of the accident was ongoing. They were also reviewing possible further legal steps in connection with the incident.
