THAILAND – Thai singer Kratae said she lost her childhood stuffed dog, known as Booby, after a recent flight and launched a public appeal that quickly captured national attention.
Lost on a flight
Kratae, a pop performer associated with R Siam, said she discovered the toy was missing after the aircraft landed. The plush dog, a gift from her mother, had accompanied her since youth and she described it as a symbol of luck, family and the start of her career. “I have had him for 22 years. He was everywhere with me,” she said in a visibly upset video that circulated widely on social media.
Accusations against the airline
The singer accused the airline of failing to wake her before disembarkation, which she said prevented her from checking her personal effects. “I had no chance to take Booby,” she wrote on Instagram. Kratae said she had contacted the carrier repeatedly by phone, email and social networks but had received neither an apology nor any information about the toy’s whereabouts.
Half a million baht reward
Determined to recover the toy, Kratae offered a reward of 500,000 baht for its return. She said she was convinced Booby was still on the plane, possibly between seats in first class, and that the reward was not about the money. “I want only my Booby back,” she told supporters. Kratae also said she was consulting lawyers to consider legal action against the airline.
Fans mobilise online
The appeal prompted a broad online response under the hashtag #FindBooby. Fans across Thailand posted old photos of Kratae with the stuffed dog and searched airport online groups for clues. “This is true love, not PR,” one supporter commented, as others demanded the airline respond publicly. So far, the carrier had remained silent.
A search that moved a nation
Hundreds of social media users joined the hunt, sharing tips and scanning footage and photos from airports. Kratae repeatedly expressed hope and emotion in public messages. “I feel he is still there,” she said through tears in one update.
The story resonated beyond a single lost toy: it highlighted how a personal object with long emotional ties can become a focal point for public sympathy and a nationwide search. As calls for the airline to explain itself continued, many in Thailand waited for what they hoped would be a happy reunion between the singer and her cherished Booby.
