Thailand’s controversial former Prime Minister, Thaksin Shinawatra, 74, begs the king for a royal pardon just a day after being sentenced to a year in prison.
The Justice Ministry, led by Police General Tawee Sodsong, confirms Thaksin’s urgent appeal. “He submitted the request immediately after the verdict,” an official reveals.
