A bizarre scene unfolded in Udon Thani as Mei Hua, 60, a retired teacher from Bangkok, lugged her suitcase straight to the door of Ta, 44, a former bank clerk. She barely knew him, but she wanted marriage—and a child.
On 22 September, Ta was stunned when she demanded entry to his home in the quiet Khlong Charoen estate. She had never met him before. What started as a shock soon spiralled into a tense clash right on his doorstep.
Marriage dreams turn into police drama
