A shocking incident unfolded at a residential dormitory in Udon Thani, leaving residents in fear. A 32-year-old Pakistani man, Ahmed, allegedly sexually harassed an 18-year-old autistic woman, known as Miss A, while she was alone in her room. Authorities acted quickly, but the incident raises urgent questions about safety in shared housing and the risks posed by illegal residents.
Miss A, who communicates well despite her autism, was alone when Ahmed knocked on her door, pretending to ask about a laundry service. Instead, he forced his way in, attempting to hug her and touch her intimately. Fortunately, her prior caution and advice from her mother helped her act fast.
Courage and Quick Thinking Prevented Worse
Miss A had already noticed Ahmed’s suspicious behavior and had recorded warnings from her mother to gather video evidence. When Ahmed tried to assault her, she resisted and immediately called for help from the dormitory manager, Miss Bow.
Miss Bow, 35, confirmed the troubling behavior: Ahmed had been renting a room across from Miss A for less than a month and often stared at her room. He appeared alongside a Thai acquaintance who sold smoothies, but even before the assault, Miss Bow noticed Ahmed’s constant, intrusive attention.
“The night before the incident, Miss A called me for help,” Miss Bow said. “Ahmed pretended to sweep his room when I arrived. But the fear Miss A felt was evident the next day when we called the authorities.”
