Shocking fall in Pattaya
Tourists in Pattaya’s Soi Petchtrakul were left horrified yesterday, September 17, as a 55-year-old Australian attempted to take his life in the most gruesome way imaginable. First he cut his face with a knife, then hurled himself from the sixth floor of a seven-storey hotel, crashing down onto a car below.
Blood-soaked scene outside hotel
When police and rescuers arrived, they found the man writhing in agony on the street, dressed only in a navy-blue T-shirt and shorts. His left cheek was slashed open, blood poured onto the ground, and the crumpled bonnet of a parked car showed the force of his impact. Stunned guests and hotel staff rushed outside after hearing the thunderous crash.
Knife found in room
Inside the man’s hotel room, police discovered a bloodied knife believed to have been used in the self-inflicted wounds. Officers reported that he had been staying alone and appeared deeply distressed before the shocking leap. Witnesses told investigators: “The sound was so loud, everyone ran to see what had happened.”
